101 Copenhagen Native Dinner Plate

The Native Dinner Plate in Birch represents a thoughtful approach to everyday dining, inspired by the ancient philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, which celebrates beauty found in imperfection and transience. Crafted from premium stoneware, each plate embodies the artistry of handcrafted design, with unique character that tells a richer story through its subtle irregularities and variations.

Hand-painted in a bright, pale natural beige with whispers of warmth, the Birch colour reflects the gentle tone of fresh wood. Light brush strokes create natural depth across each piece, ensuring no two plates are ever identical. Unique patterns and subtle burned spots enhance the handcrafted charm, making every item a one-of-a-kind addition to your table.

More than functional dinnerware, these plates serve as a bridge to cultural and environmental roots, transforming every meal into a visually inspiring experience. They pair beautifully with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and handcrafted elements, turning dining into a moment of genuine connection.

Technical Specifications: Sold in sets of two pieces, each plate measures 25 cm in diameter with a height of 2.5 cm. Crafted from 100% ceramic stoneware and fired at 1,260°C for exceptional durability, the plates feature a matte glaze finish. They are dishwasher-safe up to 65°C and microwave-safe, though gentle hand washing is recommended to preserve their refined character. The stoneware's natural patina develops beautifully with time and use, adding depth and character to your dining experience.

Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl, the Native collection combines Danish design sensibilities with Japanese aesthetics, creating pieces that are both timeless and contemporary.
