101 Copenhagen Tairu Table

The Tairu Table - Striped Calacatta by 101 Copenhagen represents a modern interpretation of mid-century tile design. Inspired by the Japanese word "tairu," meaning tiles, this distinctive table merges sculptural form with functional elegance. Designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl, it showcases the timeless appeal of natural marble combined with contemporary materials.

Crafted from fiber concrete and striped calacatta marble, each table is entirely unique due to the natural color and pattern variations inherent to the stone. The fiber concrete base, inspired by Brutalist architecture, is lightweight yet sculptural, featuring subtle textures that add character and depth. The marble surface has been carefully selected for its natural patterns and enduring beauty, complementing the base with earthy tones and a smooth, balanced finish.

Measuring L38 x W38 x H45 cm and weighing 7.5 kg, this compact table works beautifully as a side table or accent piece in any interior. The untreated marble naturally develops a warm patina over time, enhancing its lived-in aesthetic. For maintenance, simply use a soft dry cloth to clean; avoid household cleaners and acidic products to preserve the marble's integrity. Please note this piece is designed for indoor use only and is not frost-proof.
