Design House Stockholm Step Ladder

Step Stepladder by Design House Stockholm turns a purely practical household object into a genuine piece of decor. Designed by Karl Malmvall, this stepladder was conceived to be beautiful enough to remain on display rather than hidden away in a closet. A small wall-mounting hook is included, allowing it to hang within reach as a graphic addition to any hallway, kitchen or living space, ready whenever it's needed to change a light bulb, reach a top shelf, or hang a new piece of art.

Crafted from polyurethane lacquered solid oak, with a platform made of MDF and oak veneer, the Step Stepladder combines sturdy construction with refined detailing. It measures 45 cm in width, 79 cm in depth and 125 cm in height, and weighs 8.5 kg. Maintenance is simple: a wipe with a damp cloth keeps it looking its best.

The Step Stepladder is available in a range of finishes, including Oak, Light Oak, Dark Oak, White, Black and Red, allowing it to be matched to different interior styles, from warm and natural to bold and graphic.

Born from a spontaneous studio moment, when Karl Malmvall arrived to present a chair but ended up unveiling a ladder that quickly stole the spotlight, Step is a celebration of everyday functionality reimagined as design. Thoughtfully made and finished with care, it proves that even the most utilitarian objects deserve a place in view, not tucked away.
