Design House Stockholm Wave Coat Hanger

The Wave Coat Hanger by Design House Stockholm reimagines a simple, everyday object as a sculptural detail for the home. Designed by Nanni Holén in 2003, its organic, flowing silhouette casts a distinctive pattern of pointing shadows, turning a functional hanger into a small design statement wherever it is mounted.

The clever construction is what sets Wave apart: each set consists of two pieces cut from the very same sheet of metal, with one part forming the negative shape of the other. This resourceful method produces virtually no waste material, reflecting a thoughtful, design-led approach to production. Wave is made from lacquered cold rolled steel and is easy to maintain — simply wipe clean with a damp cloth.

One of the hanger's most practical features is its modularity. Wave can be extended as far as needed by simply attaching additional hangers side by side, making it a flexible solution for entryways, hallways, bedrooms, or wardrobes of any size.

Each set includes two pieces, with the full hanger measuring 90 cm in width, 11 cm in height, and 2 cm in depth; individually, each piece measures 45 cm wide and 11 cm high. The hanger weighs 1.2 kg and is produced in Sweden.

The Wave Coat Hanger is available in White and Black, allowing it to be matched to a range of interior styles while retaining its signature sculptural form.
