Why there's no overlay panel

Retransfer printers don't need one. The image prints onto clear film first, then the film is bonded to the card — the film itself is the protective layer. That's what gives you true edge-to-edge printing with no white border, and clean results on smart cards and proximity cards whose uneven surfaces defeat direct-to-card printers.

Other HDP5000 ribbons

• 84052 — YMCKK, adds a second black panel for the reverse of the card
• 84061 — YMCFK, adds a UV fluorescent panel for covert security marks
