Gubi 62 Desk

The Gubi 62 Desk is a timeless design icon that continues to captivate with its innovative form and refined craftsmanship. Originally designed in 1952 by the visionary Greta M. Grossman, this desk earned its numerical designation as it was deemed a full decade ahead of its time—a testament to its forward-thinking aesthetic that remains relevant today.

What immediately strikes you about the 62 Desk is its remarkable sense of lightness and visual grace. The piece appears to defy gravity through its distinctive asymmetric silhouette and slender metal legs that rest delicately on small wooden feet—a signature design hallmark of Grossman's work. This careful balance between form and function creates a desk that feels both sculptural and supremely functional.

Constructed from premium American walnut, the desk showcases an elegant material pairing that elevates its presence in any workspace. The tabletop and cabinet door feature a deep, luxurious black full gloss finish that provides striking contrast against the warm walnut tones. This sophisticated color combination enhances the desk's architectural qualities and ensures it serves as a statement piece in modern, contemporary, or transitional interiors.

The left-side cabinet is thoughtfully designed with practical storage solutions, featuring two low drawers and one high drawer that accommodate various office essentials while maintaining the desk's refined proportions. The 62 Desk represents the perfect marriage of mid-century modernism and enduring design excellence—a workspace solution for those who appreciate authentic design heritage and exceptional quality.
