Gubi Matégot Bowl

The Gubi Matégot Bowl is a masterpiece of mid-century design, originally conceived by visionary designer Mathieu Matégot in 1953. This iconic piece embodies the forward-thinking aesthetic and contemporary spirit that defined Matégot's celebrated career, seamlessly blending form and function into a single, striking object.

Crafted from Rigitulle, Matégot's signature material, this bowl showcases the designer's innovative approach to material exploration. Rigitulle is a thin perforated metal sheet that resembles delicate metal lace, offering a distinctive transparent quality that creates a light, airy expression. The material's inherent beauty and structural integrity allow Matégot to push creative boundaries, resulting in a piece that is simultaneously solid and ethereal.

Beyond its practical storage function, the Matégot Bowl serves as a genuine work of art and design. The characteristic perforated metal construction provides visual interest from every angle, while the transparent quality ensures the bowl complements rather than overwhelms any interior setting. Whether displayed on a shelf, side table, or desk, it becomes an immediate focal point that elevates the aesthetic of your space.

The bowl's spacious interior and refined silhouette make it an ideal choice for those seeking to add a pop of colour and sophisticated style to their home or office. This is more than functional décor—it is a testament to timeless design excellence and the enduring appeal of mid-century modernism.
