Minale 4Shades Pendant

The Minale 4Shades Pendant stacks four shades in one form, casting a focused task light onto the table below and a warm, ambient glow across the room. Marcello Minale prototyped it in 1971 and it made the cover of Domus, but it was never built. His son Massimo has now realised it, with a patented opal resin lens whose glow, in his words, is borrowed from the tail lights of a Ferrari 308.

Lacquered aluminium with solid brass detailing and an opal resin core, in three Milanese colourways: Olive Green, Silk Grey and Pure Aluminium. It hangs from a 2 m textured black textile cord that can be cut to length, under a matt-black powder-coated ceiling rose. A dimmable 4.5 W G9 LED bulb (2700 K) is supplied and replaceable; dim it with a compatible dimmer switch. For indoor use, IP20.
