Serax Elé Chair

The Elé Chair by Serax is a graceful addition to the furniture collection designed by Ann Demeulemeester and Patrick Robyn, marking the first time the pair have translated their distinctive aesthetic into a complete furniture line. The chair captures the tension between strength and fragility that defines their work, touching the ground lightly despite the sturdy wooden frame beneath it.

Crafted from solid beech in a soft cream finish, the Elé Chair experiments with both form and dimension. Its front legs feature an unexpected twist, subtly transitioning from square to round as they meet the seat, while the almost flat front and curved back and arm structure form a solid D-shape when viewed from above. This interplay of straight and curved lines results in a piece that is at once refined, elegant and graphic.

Measuring 50 cm in length, 47 cm in width and 70 cm in height, and weighing 6.5 kg, the chair is designed for indoor, dry environments. It is not adjustable in seat height and does not offer modular configurations. As with all pieces in the collection, the wood is FSC certified and finished by hand, meaning slight irregularities may occur — a natural characteristic that adds to the uniqueness of each individual piece.
