Serax La Mère High Bowl

The Serax La Mère High Bowl in Venetian Red brings a bold, expressive accent to the celebrated La Mère tableware collection by designer Marie Michielssen. Striking a balance between nostalgic form and contemporary craftsmanship, this piece stands out through its vertical structure and hand-moulded silhouette, ensuring that every bowl carries its own subtle individuality. The rich Venetian red glaze was deliberately chosen as a bold contrasting colour within the collection, designed to be mixed and matched with the warm dark brown, almost black finish for a striking tabletop composition.

Crafted from durable stoneware with a glazed finish, the high bowl measures 21 x 21 x 9.5 cm and weighs 1.21 kg. It is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe up to a maximum temperature of 180°C, making it as practical as it is beautiful. As with all handcrafted pieces in the La Mère line, slight irregularities in shape and glaze may occur, adding to the authentic, artisanal character of each item.

La Mère, Marie Michielssen's first ceramic tableware line, is conceived as a loving tribute to the (grand-)mother figure and to women in general. It celebrates the act of eating together as a moment of connection, reflecting the intuitive roles women have long fulfilled within family life. This High Bowl in Venetian Red is a versatile addition to any table setting, equally suited to everyday use or special occasions where thoughtful design takes centre stage.
