Serax Sofisticato Connector

The Sofisticato Connector by Serax is the junction piece of the Sofisticato lighting system designed by Koen Van Guijze. Made of bluesteel, it joins the 160 cm Sofisticato Tube to the Nr 30 ceiling spotlight and the Nr 32 ceiling lamp, so several lights can be combined into one ceiling-mounted configuration. It is an accessory and does not light on its own.

Two versions are offered: Nr 34A with 2 holes, for a straight run, and Nr 34B with 4 holes, for a cross or T-junction. Both measure 7.5 x 7.5 x 6 cm and weigh 0.58 kg.

As Koen Van Guijze describes the material: "A straightforward material, fashioned by human hands, not spat out by a machine." Every connector is milled, turned, drilled and welded by hand; the steel is then heated and polished, which makes it rust-resistant and gives it its characteristic blue glow. Small irregularities in the finish are part of each piece. Mounting instructions are included; for indoor, dry locations.
