Designed by Sergio Herman for Serax, the Surface Butter Knife brings a refined restaurant sensibility to the everyday table. Its silhouette is rooted in the classic French restaurant cutlery Herman worked with for 25 years at 'Oud Sluis', and later chose again for 'Pure C' and 'The Jane'. Rather than reinventing a near-perfect form, he refined it — giving the Surface Collection a distinctive, contemporary character while preserving the timeless proportions that make it so effortless to use.

Crafted from the strongest Swedish steel, the blade is built for durability and everyday performance, while the piece's stone-washed finish lends it a soft, tactile texture and a modern, understated look. As part of an exclusive, handcrafted collection, each knife is finished by hand, meaning slight irregularities may occur — a natural detail that underlines the individuality and craftsmanship behind every piece.
