Tunto L 40 - 1160 mm - Oak Pendant

Discover the Tunto L 40 Pendant Lamp in oak, a refined lighting piece from Finnish designer Mikko Kärkkäinen that pairs the natural warmth of solid wood with advanced LED technology. Measuring 1160 mm in length, this pendant features microprism and honeycomb lens optics that deliver soft, low-glare illumination with an excellent Unified Glare Rating of under 19, making it ideal for spaces where comfortable, ambient light is essential.

Crafted from solid oak with a wood profile of 40 x 40 mm, the L 40 combines Scandinavian craftsmanship with contemporary functionality. As a natural material, the wood displays organic variations in grain and tone, and its character will gently evolve over time. The pendant is supplied with a 2-metre suspension and a 3-metre power cable, both of which can be shortened to suit your installation.

This version is equipped with a choice of 2700 K, 3000 K or 4000 K drivers and optional Casambi (Bluetooth) control, allowing seamless, continuous dimming via smartphone, tablet, or the Tunto EnOcean switch, without the need for physical wiring to an external switch. With a color rendering index of Ra 93 and an LED lifespan of 50,000 hours, the L 40 ensures both visual quality and long-term reliability.

Rated IP20 for indoor use and built to Protection Class II, this pendant is designed for professional installation. Its downward-facing, fixed light direction makes it a striking yet functional choice above dining tables, kitchen islands, or workspaces, bringing understated elegance to any interior.

Available options
Colour temperature: 2700 K, 3000 K or 4000 K · Optic: microprism, honeycomb or lenses · Control: DALI – Push Dim or Casambi (Bluetooth).

Which optic should I choose?
Microprism — diffuses the light for the softest, lowest-glare result; the usual choice above desks and workstations.
Honeycomb — shields the LED so the fitting reads dark from normal viewing angles, with tighter beam control; suits open-plan offices and hospitality.
Lenses — the most directional option, giving crisp, focused light; ideal over dining tables and kitchen islands.
