Tunto L 40 - 1440 mm - Black Stained Oak Pendant

Designed by Mikko Kärkkäinen and crafted in Finland, the Tunto L 40 Pendant Lamp brings together the warmth of solid wood and precision LED technology. This particular version measures 1440 mm in length and is finished in black stained oak, showcasing the natural grain and character of the wood while offering a refined, understated presence above any table or living space. As with all solid wood pieces, subtle variations in pattern and tone are part of its organic charm, and the finish may gently evolve over time.

At the heart of the L 40 lies advanced microprism and honeycomb optics, engineered to deliver soft, low-glare illumination with a Unified Glare Rating below 19. The LED light source operates at 2700 K, 3000 K or 4000 K, providing excellent color rendering (Ra = 93) and a downward, fixed light direction ideal for focused yet comfortable ambiance. With a lifespan of 50,000 hours, this fixture is built for lasting performance.

Control is made effortless through the optional Casambi (Bluetooth) system, a 2-wire setup requiring only active and neutral wires at the ceiling outlet. Dimming is continuously adjustable via smartphone, tablet, or the optional Tunto EnOcean switch, allowing full flexibility without complex wiring.

The pendant features a suspension height of 2 meters and a 3-meter power cable, both of which can be shortened to suit your space. Rated IP20 for indoor use, and CE marked, it is designed for professional installation and long-term reliability, combining Scandinavian design sensibility with technical excellence.

Available options
Colour temperature: 2700 K, 3000 K or 4000 K · Optic: microprism, honeycomb or lenses · Control: DALI – Push Dim or Casambi (Bluetooth).

Which optic should I choose?
Microprism — diffuses the light for the softest, lowest-glare result; the usual choice above desks and workstations.
Honeycomb — shields the LED so the fitting reads dark from normal viewing angles, with tighter beam control; suits open-plan offices and hospitality.
Lenses — the most directional option, giving crisp, focused light; ideal over dining tables and kitchen islands.
