Verpan Spiegel Wall / Ceiling Lamp

Spiegel stands as one of Verner Panton's most iconic contributions to lighting design, first rising to fame in 1969 as part of his complete interior installation for the Der Spiegel Publishing House in Hamburg. This large, quadratic wall or ceiling lamp remains an avant-garde statement piece, perfectly suited to the modern contemporary home. True to Panton's design philosophy, Spiegel can be mounted individually as a sculptural focal point or combined into a system of multiple units, allowing for a dramatic large-scale installation tailored to mood, personality, and space.

At the heart of the design is a circular indentation that houses the light source, concealed beneath a hemispheric shade. This clever construction breaks and softens the light, banishing glare and casting a beautifully diffused, ambient glow. The result is an architectural and sculptural art piece that doubles as a fully functional lamp — a hallmark of Panton's inventive approach to form and function.

Spiegel is crafted in a brushed aluminum finish and measures W: 62.5 cm x H: 62.5 cm x D: 20 cm, weighing 4.6 kg. It is fitted with an E14 (220V) or E12 (110V) socket, max. 60W, and comes with a black fabric cord featuring an on/off switch, 250 cm in length. The lamp is CE and UL certified, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
