Vitra Wooden Dolls

The Vitra Wooden Dolls, originally designed by Alexander Girard in 1952, capture a charming blend of human and animal motifs. Crafted as decorative elements for his Santa Fe residence, these timeless figures are now lovingly reproduced from the originals housed at the Vitra Design Museum. Each doll, from No. 1 to No. 22, is meticulously handcrafted and painted, echoing Girard’s attention to detail and his passion for vibrant, narrative design.

Today's re-editions of the Wooden Dolls remain true to Girard’s legacy, each piece distinct with minute variations that make it uniquely special. As functional as they are whimsical, these dolls not only serve as delightful decor but also embody a piece of design history, making them a must-have for collectors and design enthusiasts alike. Each doll stands as a testament to Girard's vision and the artisanal craftsmanship that brings each character to life.
